(UPDATE: 2:46 p.m.) - Police have confirmed that they believe there are fewer than 10 fatalities at this time, and they have also confirmed the identity of their suspect.
The suspect in the Santa Fe school shooting is a student, 17-year-old Dimitrios Pagourtzis.

The Santa Fe ISD says he has been charged with capital murder and aggravated assault of a peace officer. He is in being held in the Galveston County jail on no bond.
The superintendent of the school district, Leigh Wall, has also released a statement on the tragic shooting, saying “words cannot express the sorrow in our hearts for those we have lost today.”
“We have received an outpouring of offers of support from our neighbours locally, statewide and nationally,” writes Wall. “I want you to know that we will gladly accept every resource that will help our students on what promises to be a long road to recovery.”
(Update 10:30 a.m.) - Officials have now confirmed between eight and 10 are dead following the shooting at a Texas high school on Friday morning.
It has also been confirmed that the suspected shooter and one other person are in custody.
Officials are now dealing with explosive devices that were found in the school and surrounding areas.
#UPDATE There have been explosive devices found in the high school and surrounding areas adjacent to the high school. Because of the threat of explosive items, community members should be on the look-out for suspicious packages and anything that looks out of place.

Sources are reporting as many as 10 fatalities following the shooting at Santa Fe High School in Galveston County around 8 a.m. local time.

The Santa Fe School District confirmed an incident occurred “involving an active shooter,” adding that “the district has initiated a lockdown.”
