It doesn’t get much better than a summer outdoor concert in the Okanagan.
Next week, that's exactly what music fans in Kelowna will be treated to as Bahamas is heading to town for a Tuesday night concert at the city's Waterfront Park Island Stage.
The opening act for the show will be one that’s familiar to Okanagan residents, as Kelowna’s very own Yukon Blonde will do the honours.
After the doors open at 6 p.m., Yukon Blonde will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. followed by Bahamas at 8:30 p.m.
If you've seen either act before, there will be plenty of new tunes to enjoy as both bands are touring new music this summer.
For Bahamas, that new music is an album called Earthtones, which is the fourth studio album from the Barrie, ONT native, released on Jan. 19.
Yukon Blonde’s new album, Critical Hit, came out much more recently, as the public got their first listen on June 22.
You can listen to both albums on any streaming service or, better yet, purchase the albums through iTunes to support the Canadian artists.
This is the first show from Kelowna based Rock District, which has plans to re-ignite the island stage in Waterfront Park with a number of concerts.
““We are excited to re-ignite Kelowna’s Waterfront Park island stage amphitheatre to an A-level artist,” said Brandon Cochran from Rock District.
“Bahamas is just the beginning of many more concerts for Okanagan residents and tourists to enjoy.”
Tickets for this show are still available and will set you back $49.50 plus taxes and fees.
