A BC man was stranded in a ditch for up to two days after crashing his car, police believe.
The man was spotted crawling on the ground off Ness Lake Road, north of Prince George, at about 4 pm on Sept. 10 by an off-duty emergency services worker.
Police and medics were called and discovered that the man was suffering from serious, though not life-threatening, injuries.
He was taken to hospital.
Officers later found his vehicle in "some bush" down a 10-metre embankment.
No other people were found and the man is believed to have been the sole occupant of the vehicle, though police were not certain.
The investigation led officers to conclude the man was heading west along Ness Lake Road when he went down the embankment.
“It is believed that he was there for up to two days before crawling out to the road,” police explained.
“He was not wearing a seatbelt and the vehicle was not insured.”
Cpl. Craig Douglass added: “Although it is very unusual for something like this to happen, it should be a reminder to all drivers to be prepared for the unlikely.”
