(Update: April 5, 2024 @ 6 pm): Langley RCMP have cancelled an Amber Alert issued yesterday, following the safe recovery of a young child.
Just before 5 pm today, police were notified by staff at Langley Memorial Hospital that Brianne Ford was there with the 4-month-old boy.
"Police attended and confirmed both were there and in good health," said the RCMP. "The circumstances surrounding the parental abduction remain under investigation."
(Update: April 5, 2024 @10:20 am): Investigators in Langley are continuing their search for an infant who police allege was abducted by his mother.
Yesterday, the Langley RCMP received a report of a parental abduction involving a 4-month-old child. Police say that Brianne Ford, age 35, attended an address in the area of 72 Avenue and 208 Street in the afternoon. She later fled on foot with the child, without permission.
A canvass of the area was done, and the RCMP’s Air 1 and Search and Rescue were also assisting in the search overnight in the area surrounding 72 Avenue and 208 Street. Police say they are following up on multiple tips.
The Langley Serious Crime Unit has assumed conduct of the investigation is actively liaising with all partner agencies during this search.
Police also provided an updated description of Brianne Ford.
Investigators now believe that Ford has only one side of her brown hair shaved with purple highlights. The last time she was seen, she was wearing a black leather jacket, but investigators are unable to confirm she was wearing that at the time of the abduction.
Anyone who knows the current whereabouts of the two is urged to call 911.

An Amber Alert has been issued this evening for a 4-month-old child.
Langley RCMP issued the alert, asking people to call 911 if they see the child and the suspect, Brianne Darlene Ford.
Ford is described as standing 5’2’’, brown hair with shaved sides and pink highlights, and is wearing all black clothing and a nose ring.
Their last known location was 72 Avenue and 208 Street in Langley.
The RCMP said in a news release that it received a report of parental abduction on Thursday.
It said a 35-year-old woman attended the Langley address before fleeing on foot with the child "without permission."
"Based on the information available, criteria for an Amber Alert and the imminent concerns for the well-being of a 4-month-old child," it added.
Police are warning the public not to approach the suspect.
Instead, call 911.
