Novo Textiles has received the proper licensing from Health Canada and is now producing surgical masks for people across the country.
According to the Coquitlam-based company’s CEO, Jason Zanatta, production started on Monday on what they expect to be around 100,000 masks per day.
Hi Andrea, our factory @NovoTextiles in Coquitlam has retooled on the fly and we start local #mask production tomorrow! We will be supplying 100k /day to front line workers, health authorities, police etc across the province and Canada within the week #madeincanada #N95masks

They’ll be sent all across Canada to frontline workers, health authorities, police officers and plenty others who need them.
Novo Textiles typically produces dog beds, cushions, pillows and other similar items, but have turned their focus to helping out in the fight against COVID-19.
That includes the coveted N95 masks.
We are making surgical masks immediately starting today, our first machines arrived this morning, we will ALSO be making n95 within 2-3 weeks once our second custom automated system arrives #madeincanada

“We are making surgical masks immediately starting (Monday),” Zanatta tweeted. “Our first machines arrived (Monday) morning.
“We will also be making N95 (masks) within two to three weeks once our second custom automated system arrives.”
They’ll be the first Canadian company to do so.
A proud Coquitlam mayor, Richard Stewart, who’s known the Zanatta family for years, checked out the work that Novo Textiles was doing in March and shared a video for all to see on Facebook.
“Jason heard Prime Minister Trudeau’s call for Canadian manufacturers to step up, and he did.”
