Family searching for missing pet that may have been stolen by known dognappers

A family in the Shuswap is looking for answers after their dog went missing last week.

According to social media posts from Dani Hickman, on Oct. 17 her brother's dog "Stella" went missing out of Sorrento. Stella was reportedly spotted in White Lake on Tuesday in the company of two unknown blonde women.

The women, who were driving a silver Ford Escape SUV with Alberta plates, are possibly thought to be Karin and Catherine Adams, two convicted dognappers in the region. The pair have been spotted in BC but nothing has confirmed they are connected to the missing animal.

Residents have pointed out that Stella could have been found as part of a large dog seizure in Alberta.

The social media post has gained massive support from communities in BC and Alberta. Since Thursday, the post has received over 3,400 shares.

A police report has been filed and anyone with information on the missing dog is urged to contact their nearest RCMP detachment.
