Rookie kicker shattering records in the CFL

The Canadian Football League is witnessing history as a rookie kicker is shattering records.

Lewis Ward, a 26-year-old Ottawa Redblacks kicker, now holds two CFL records in just his first year playing in the league.

During a game against the Edmonton Eskimos earlier today, Ward kicked his 34th consecutive field goal, setting a new league record. He went on to hit seven field goals that games, making the record still active at 37.

Ward also boasts the greatest single-season kicking percentage in CFL history, connecting on 97.3% of his attempts. The next highest percentage was Rene Paredes who connected on 94.7% of his attempts.

What makes Ward’s records more impressive is that the man was originally a security guard for the Redblacks before they realized his amazing potential.
