This time of year is often the time we slow down and stay in. We nestle into the warmth of home and eat warm hearty food that feels like it counters the fall air.
We might feel less motivated to get our workouts done and stay moving. We turn the fireplace on and watch our favourite movie or series on Netflix.
We might get our butts back into the hot yoga studio after work and then cheekily wear our pj’s home and crawl in bed pretty well right after.
We might even snooze through our alarms and right past our intention to wake up early and hit our favourite class at 6 a.m. — this one I know all too well from experience!
I am the first one to love this change in routine, hunker into the warmth, avoid the cold weather and get my snowboard gear ready for Big White opening day. I am also the first one to know how powerful it feels after a workout, my favourite spin or yoga class.
I’ve also come to know how awesome it feels working out outside with a bunch of friends before we start our day — RE: November Project every Wednesday 6:29 a.m. at the Sails….. all year round!
My message for you on this beautiful Sunday is to KEEP MOVING. It’s an amazing feeling being able to slow down from the fullness of the summer and it’s also a really fantastic reminder to start a different routine.
Maybe you workout after work now, maybe you go to your favourite yoga class with your partner or a best friend two times per week before bed, maybe you try a barre class or go to a new spin class, or maybe you bundle up and join us at November Project this week.
Whatever the routine is, let it be just that, routine. Sometimes its hard to start a new routine when all you’re feeling is to stay at home with blankies on the couch and your favourite bowl of soup and a sleepy time tea after work, but I promise you it’s so worth it.
happy Sunday!
xx
