Work to stabilize the slope above Hwy 97 just north of Summerland is ongoing and will continue throughout the winter.
The highway was closed for several weeks following a landslide in late August and it reopened in September with a concrete berm in place to protect the road.
As a result, the highway remains limited to two lanes of traffic and there have been intermittent full closures to accommodate blasting at the site.
Contractor AIM Roads shared footage of recent blasting on the hillside, which gives a scope of the work that is being done.
The blasts send a significant amount of rock and debris down the slope in a process that takes a matter of seconds after a much more significant amount of planning.

The most recent closure was on Friday and, at this time, there are no planned closures scheduled for this week.
