Canadians visited polling stations across the country on Monday, but no voters climbed as high as those at Big White Ski Resort.
Kelowna’s popular ski hill was home to the nation’s “highest polling station” located a dizzying 5,757 feet above sea level.
The polling station was set up for on-mountain staff and residents who had to trek through 18 centimetres of fresh Okanagan champagne power to reach the ballot box.
As part of the South Okanagan-West Kootenay riding, that ballot included NDP candidate Richard Cannings, Liberal's Connie Denesiuk, Independent Carolina Hopkins, Green's Tara Howse, Conservative's Helena Konanz. and People Party of Canada's Sean Taylor.
An estimated 250 voters cast their ballots at Big White, which closes with the rest of BC’s polling stations at 7 pm.
