Popular helmet recalled due to safety concerns

A popular helmet for users of recreational sport motor vehicles has been recalled due to safety concerns.

Health Canada said the CKX Titan and Mission helmets, about 60,000 of which have been sold in the country since May 2016, can fail to fasten properly.

While adjusting the chin curtain, the agency said, wearers can unknowingly detach the neck strap if the rapid-release tab becomes stuck.

As of May 7, however, there have been no reported incidents involving the helmets.

They are made in China.

Health Canada advises owners to stop using the helmets and contact the retailer from which they bought the item.

Consumers can contact Kimpex toll-free at 1-800-268-5475 Monday to Friday from 5 am to 3 pm (PST).
