Prince Philip, 97, breathalyzed after flipping Land Rover in crash

Buckingham Palace has confirmed that Prince Philip, the Queen’s husband, has been involved in a car crash.

The Duke of Edinburgh, 97, was driving in a Land Rover near a royal estate in the east of England when the incident occurred.

Photographs taken at the scene show his SUV flipped on its side, with broken glass spread across the road.

Remarkably, the royal consort was not hurt in the accident.

But two women riding in the other car involved in the crash - a Kia - were taken to hospital for treatment before being discharged.

Police who responded to the crash said they breathalyzed Philip and received a negative result.

Witnesses said the prince was shocked and shaken, according to the BBC.

The Archbishop of York, John Sentamu, tweeted a prayer for the prince’s health.
