US comedian Bill Maher has gone viral in Canada with an eight-minute monologue deriding the Great White North. Maher, who is a staunch liberal and supporter of the Democratic Party, claimed Canada had shifted too far to the left under Justin Trudeau and has suffered as a consequence.

Newcomer services in Alberta are working around the clock after the province experienced record-breaking population growth of over 200,000 in 2023. Its population is now 4.8 million, with the equivalent of 550 people moving there every day, based on last year's statistics.
In 2023, the western province saw its population surge by 202,324 residents to 4.8 million, according to Statistics Canada.
