1. Trudeau urges Canadians to learn more about Charter of Rights and Freedoms

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has urged Canadians to learn more about the Charter of Rights and Freedoms on its 42nd anniversary. He said the document is "central to who we are as Canadians, representing freedom, democracy, and equality."


2. Air Canada worker arrested in gold heist probe

Police have arrested multiple people in connection with a multi-million dollar gold heist at Canada's busiest airport last year. Peel Regional Police said one of the men arrested is a 54-year-old Air Canada employee.


3. More than 50,000 Russian soldiers killed in Ukraine: BBC

More than 50,000 Russian soldiers have been killed in Ukraine since February 2022, an analysis by the BBC suggests. Ukraine's president said this year that 31,000 Ukrainian troops had died, but many observers outside the country have suggested that is a significant underestimate.

5. Tesla asks shareholders to approve US$56B pay deal for Elon Musk

Tesla has asked its shareholders to reinstate a US$56 billion pay package for CEO Elon Musk. It comes after the compensation deal was annulled by a judge in Delaware this year.
