1. Magnum PI star dies aged 83

Actor Roger E. Mosley, who starred in the original Magnum PI series, has died. The 83-year-old died in after being hurt in a car accident in Los Angeles.

2. Airline executives asked to work as baggage handlers

Senior executives at Australian airline Qantas have been asked to work as baggage handlers for three months as the firm struggles with a labour shortage. The airline's CEO said the shortage was down to COVID-19, winter flu and a tight labour market.

3. WWII bomb found in dried-out Italian river

A Second World War bomb has been revealed in Italy after a severe drought dried up parts of the River Po. The bomb, which was discovered by fisherman, has been detonated in a controlled explosion.

4. China pledges to continue drills around Taiwan

China has said it will continue its large-scale military drills around Taiwan in the wake of US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to the island nation. Taiwan, which is a self-ruled country that Chinese Communists in Beijing claim as their own territory, has said the drills are practice for an invasion.

5. Ceasefire between Israel and Islamic Jihad holding

A ceasefire agreed yesterday between Israel and terrorists in Gaza is holding. Dozens of people in Gaza – which is part of Palestine – died during fighting between Israel and terror group Islamic Jihad.
