1. Germany closer to gas rationing amid energy shortage

Germany has moved one step closer to rationing gas after Russia allegedly cut supplies to the country. Germany – which chose to shut down several of its nuclear power plants late last year – has triggered the "alarm" stage of its plan to deal with a shortage of energy.

2. Swimmer saved by coach

An American swimmer has been rescued from the bottom of a pool after fainting at the World Aquatics Championships. Anita Alvarez was saved by her coach.

3. Musk says Tesla factories 'losing billions of dollars'

Elon Musk has said Tesla's new "gigafactories" in Germany and Texas are "losing billions of dollars" because of supply disruptions. Musk explained, however, that the problems are "going to get fixed real fast."

4. Pope condemns killings of priests inside church

Pope Francis has condemned the killings of two priests inside a church in Mexico. Police said the holy men were gunned down after an encounter with a wanted drug dealer.

5. Uvalde police chief placed on leave

The police chief accused of failing to organize a rapid response to the Uvalde school massacre last month has been placed on leave. Pedro Arredondo has defended his actions, however, claiming he did not think he was in charge on the day of the atrocity.

And lastly...

In lighter news, a 1964 interview with John Lennon that has never been broadcast is going up for auction. On the tape, Lennon says he and the rest of the Beatles aren't "good musicians."
