TC Energy's CEO has once again called on Mark Carney and the Liberal government in Ottawa to speed up approvals for energy infrastructure in Canada. Francois Poirier said Carney's pledge to review proposals within two years was inadequate and called for a six-month timeline instead. He added: "We’re competing for international customers to deliver them LNG. We want to diversify beyond the US. We don’t get to pick the timelines." Separately, the US has said it is considering waiving sanctions on Iranian oil as the world faces an energy crunch due to war in the Middle East.
The top executive of North American pipeline operator TC Energy said Canada’s process for approving energy infrastructure projects is still far too slow, despite Prime Minister Mark Carney’s efforts to reform it https://t.co/p1YWwmyxMx

Denmark and its allies were preparing to engage the United States in battle in Greenland earlier this year, according to a report from the Danish public broadcaster. The DR's report claims Denmark had flown supplies of blood to Greenland and was preparing to blow up the island's runways as US President Donald Trump suggested he was considering a hostile takeover. It also claims that Denmark's F-35 fighter jets were deployed, and fully armed, in case the US attacked. The plan, according to the sources, was to force the Americans to use violence to take the island.

US President JD Vance, meanwhile, has launched another attack on Canada, claiming Canada has "taken advantage of the United States of America for far too long." He said "Canada pays virtually nothing, at least until a couple of years ago, for their own security – which means we had to foot the bill for that security," but he added that Trump has told Canada: "You're always going to be an ally, but why don't you have a little more self-sufficiency?" Vance also said Canada does not treat the US, or its workers, "fairly" when it comes to trade.
Vance just highlighted how Canada has SCREWED America for decades under weak leadership, which also explains exactly why Trump has done what he did.

Canada's population declined in 2025, according to Statistics Canada, the first time that has happened since Confederation. The country's population fell by 102,000 last year, according to the agency's latest estimate, due to a drop in temporary immigrants. Because Canada's fertility is so low – about 1.25 children per woman – the country's population would naturally fall without immigration, meaning any changes in the population are now almost entirely due to immigration policy.
