Pierre Poilievre, leader of the Conservative party in Canada, has promised that if elected his government would cut income tax by 15% for the average Canadian. He made the announcement Monday morning as many Canadians begin their work week.

Prime Minister Mark Carney announced a tax cut the day before Pierre Pollieve’s announcement. This middle-class tax cut will save two-income families up to $825 a year, by reducing the marginal tax rate on the lowest tax bracket by 1 percentage point.
Greenland’s sovereignty is once again a topic of conversation after Prime Minister Múte B. Egede called a planned visit from US officials “highly aggressive.” US President Donald Trump has made comments about taking over the semi-autonomist Danish territory. Both the wife of Vice President J.D. Vance and Mike Waltz, the US national security adviser, are supposed to separately visit Greenland next week.

Irish UFC fighter Conor McGregor said that he will run for president of Ireland in the upcoming election. This comes after his controversial visit to the White House, where he spoke with US President Donald Trump. McGregor also faces an investigation from the Irish Director of Public Prosecutions for alleged incitement of hatred stemming from his social media activities in 2023.
