1. US puts 100% tariff on Chinese-made EVs

The US has put a 100 per cent tariff on electric cars from China. The quadrupling of the levy that must be paid on Chinese-made vehicles entering the US will protect American jobs, according to the White House.


2. Car thieves could lose licence in Ontario

Car thieves could be deprived of their freedom to drive under proposed changes to the law in Ontario. The Progressive Conservative government in the province wants to attach a 10-year licence suspension to the punishment for the first theft, 15 years for the second and an indefinite ban for the third.


3. Woman who saved twin from crocodile given King's medal

A woman who saved her twin sister from a crocodile attack in Mexico has been given a medal for bravery by the King. Georgia Laurie repeatedly struck the fearsome reptile after it bit her sister in 2021.


4. Doctor uses his own research to fight off cancer that was killing him

One of the world's most esteemed pathologists has succeeded in holding off his own cancer. Dr. Richard Scolyer used his pioneering research on melanoma to fight off the aggressive form of glioblastoma that was killing him.
