Star Trek actor William Shatner has made it into space. The 90-year-old went into the great unknown aboard a sub-orbital capsule belonging to Jeff Bezos's firm Blue Origin.

2. US airlines ignore Texas order banning enforcement of vaccine mandates

Two US airlines have said they will ignore an order issued by Texas Governor Greg Abbott that bans firms from enforcing COVID-19 vaccine mandates. American Airlines and Southwest Airlines said they will still enforce mandates.

3. Girl who pretended to be a boy to join band apologizes

A young Chinese girl has apologized for trying to join a boy band. Fu Jiayuan, 13, said she lied about her sex out of naivety and promised to never "show up" in the entertainment industry again.

4. Man given double life sentence for killing wife with snake

An Indian man has been given a double life sentence after admitting to killing his wife with a cobra. Sooraj Kumar had been harassing his wife's family for a dowry, police said.

5. US officials investigating another potential instance of Havana syndrome

American officials are investigating yet another suspected case of Havana syndrome at a US embassy – this one in Colombia. Staff in Bogota have reported suffering from a mysterious illness in recent days.
