Barenaked Ladies to perform at BC Interior CPKC Holiday Train stops

While it feels like fall has just begun, preparations for the Christmas season are already underway, including the release of the 2025 CPKC Holiday Train schedule.

Back for its 27th year, the train will begin visiting communities on Nov. 19 in Montreal and will showcase 196 live performances in six provinces and 13 US states.

Eventually, the train will make its way to the BC Interior by mid-December and the Barenaked Ladies will play more than 20 free shows.

“I can’t imagine a better way to visit some of Canada’s beautiful mountain towns than by riding the CPKC Holiday Train,” said Ed Robertson of the Barenaked Ladies.

“It’s going to be a great time for a great cause!”

The train will come along Hwy 3 and make stops in Sparwood, Fernie, Cranbrook, Creston, Nelson and Castlegar over two days on Dec. 14 and 15.

Afterwards, the train will then head north to Radium before going west and stopping in Revelstoke and Salmon Arm on Dec. 17 and then Kamloops on Dec. 18, alongside several other communities.

Each performance is free to attend and CPKC encourages event goers to make food or monetary donations, as local food banks will be at each stop to accept contributions.

“We are thrilled to send this beautiful train filled with lights and music to spread the joy of the season and proud to support the giving spirit of the holidays, assisting people experiencing food insecurity,” said Keith Creel, CPKC president and CEO.

“It's incredible to see communities come together every year to celebrate the holidays while supporting local food banks.”

Since 1999, more than $26 million and 5.4 million pounds of food have been collected.

The full schedule for the train can be found online at this link.
