Mounties have confirmed that a motorcyclist died in a crash on Hwy 3 west of Princeton on Friday.
The 50-year-old man, who was from the Vancouver area, hit a pick-up truck near Whipsaw Creek at about 7.25 pm.
When police arrived at the scene, they determined that the motorcyclist – who was heading east – had lost control on a sharp curve, crossed the centre line and collided in a “side-swipe fashion” with a pickup heading west.
The motorcyclist was thrown from his vehicle and died at the scene from catastrophic injuries.
South Okanagan Traffic Services and the BC Coroners’ Service are investigating.
Anyone with information about the crash or the driving pattern of the Hayabusa motorcycle before the crash is asked to call 250-499-2250.
