(UPDATE: Jan. 31 @ 9 am) - A 32-year-old Invermere woman who was last seen on Sunday, Jan. 26 has been found.
Police confirmed that Belinda Dawn Eugene is safe and sound, four days after she was reported missing.
Dawn was last seen in the Radium Hot Springs area, but it was believed that she could have been hitch hiking towards Kamloops.
However, the RCMP did not provide details on where she was located.
(Original story: Jan. 27 @ 4 pm) - Police are asking motorists all over the south Interior to keep an eye out for Belinda Dawn Eugene.
The Invermere woman was last seen on the morning of Jan. 26 in the Radium Hot Springs area.
There’s nothing to indicate foul play at this point, but police believe she may have been hitchhiking to the Kamloops area.
Although it is believed that Belinda is reportedly dressed appropriately for the current weather conditions, police are very concerned for her health and wellbeing should she experience a prolonged exposure,” said Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey.
“We are interested in locating Belinda to check her wellbeing and ask motorists travelling throughout the southern interior to watch for her.”
Eugene is described as a 32-year-old Indigenous woman who’s 5’7”, 170 lbs with black hair and brown eyes.
She was last seen wearing a black jacket, purple snow pants, a long grey fuzzy toque and a pair of eye glasses.
She was also carrying a small black suitcase and a blue backpack.
