She tells Rob about the catalyst that started her on the path to learning everything she could about psychology, executive coaching and neuroscience.
For Tracey, there were two pivotal moments—the first was when she was 20-years-old and broke out in tiny red sores from the high levels of stress she was feeling. Tracey was a psych student at UBCO, and saw a flyer for a meditation workshop, and gave it a try. Amazingly, she discovered peace and calm.
“To find it inside was absolutely shocking,” she told Rob. “It had been there all along. And now I know that's the space that meditators access when they meditate. Sometimes that's called the flow state.”
The second pivotal moment for Tracey was when her father passed away from a terminal neurodegenerative disease called Multiple Systems Atrophy.
“He passed away while I was holding his hand at the hospice, and after he passed, suddenly the rest of my life felt like this gift that I had,” she says.
“He was gone. He didn't even make it to his retirement. But I have the whole rest of my life ahead of me. I was only in my late 20s then. So what did I want to do with it?”
She realized then that she wanted to create her dream business where she could help others find peace.
Tracey started as a meditation teacher, and progressed to mindfulness and neuroscience coaching and training.
