KamloopsNow reporter John Luke Kieper will compete on Big Brother Canada

The secret is out!

If you’ve noticed that John Luke Kieper hasn’t been writing stories for the NowMedia platform of late, it’s because he’s a competitor on the eighth season of Big Brother Canada.

That means he’s temporarily left his post in NowMedia’s Kamloops office and has travelled to Toronto to pursue his dream of winning the reality TV show.

“John Luke may seem like a laid-back, carefree guy, but don’t peg him for a floater,” says his bio on the Big Brother website.

“This extremely athletic scholar plans to downplay his intelligence by outsmarting the houseguests.”

We don't want to toot his horn too much, but John Luke is a very lovable guy who certainly seems like he has what it takes to win a show like Big Brother.

The 22-year-old is looking to become the second straight winner from the region, as Kelowna’s Dane Rupert came out victorious on season seven of the show.

If he does win, he'll come back to Kamloops $100,000 richer along with a few other luxuries like home furnishing, travel money and more.

The season kicks off with a two-night premiere on Wednesday, March 4 and Thursday, March 5 on Global.

Before the first episode even airs, you can do your part to protect John Luke from the season's first eviction by voting for him on the Big Brother Canada website.

From everyone here at NowMedia, go John Luke go!
