Winery reveals third and final performer for its Summer Concert Series

In the '90s and the aughts, Amanda Marshall tore up the music charts with hits such as 'Birmingham', 'Let It Rain', 'Dark Horse', 'Believe in You', 'Sittin' On Top of the World', 'Fall from Grace', 'If I Didn't Have You', 'Everybody's Got a Story' and 'Sunday Morning After'.

You can hear her sing them all Thursday, Aug. 6 as the third and final act in the Summer Concert Series at West Kelowna's Mission Hill Winery.

Earlier this month, the winery announced the first two concerts of the series -- Tom Cochrane ('Life is a Highway' and 'Big League') on Wednesday, July 8 and Burton Cummings ('American Woman' and 'These Eyes') on Wednesday, July 22.

And then, this week, the winery revealed Amanda Marshall would round out the line up.

This summer it's an all-Canadian icon roster.

Marshall is renowned for her slighly husky, crystal-clear voice and her soulful blend of pop and rock.

She's released three multi-platinum albums and ten top-10 singles.

Elton John sang her praises on the Rosie O'Donnell talk show in the mid-1990s and Whitney Houston personally selected Marshall to be her opening act on the Europen leg of her 'My Love Is Your Love' world tour in 1999.

Marshall was last in Kelowna in September when she did a free pop-up mini-concert at Red Bird Brewing before opening for Bryan Adams that night at Prospera Place.

All three Mission Hill concerts will be in the winery's outdoor amphitheatre that seats 900 and has room for a 100 or so standing up at the top of the hill.

Mission Hill bills its Summer Concert Series, now in its 19th annual season, as a highly anticipated Okanagan summertime tradition.

"Attending a concert beneath the summer sky at our stunning outdoor amphitheatre is a truly remarkable experience," said Anthony von Mandl, who owns not just Mission Hill, but other Okanagan wineries CedarCreek, Martin's Lane, Liquidity, Road 13, Red Barn and CheckMate.

"There's something magical about enjoying live music in this intimate hilltop setting -- a summertime tradition in the Okanagan that echoes the grand tradition of Europe's historic open-air amphitheatres."

Tickets to all concerts start at $250 for standing room and $345 for reserved seating with two glasses of wine.

In recent years, Mission Hill's Summer Concert Series has seen the Gipsy Kings, Sarah McLachlan, Melissa Ehteridge and Diana Krall hit the stage.
