Why This Women’s Wellness Retreat in Kelowna Is About More Than Self-Care

There comes a point where “getting through the day” no longer feels like enough.

For many women, life becomes a constant balancing act between work, relationships, caregiving, ambition, expectations, and the invisible emotional load they carry every day. Wellness becomes another thing on the checklist instead of something deeply felt.

<who>The Women's Wellness RetreatThat’s exactly why The Women’s Wellness Retreat, happening May 22 and 23 in Kelowna, was created.

Not as another event packed with surface-level inspiration or quick fixes, but as an intentional space where women can reconnect with themselves in a way that actually lasts.

At the heart of the retreat is a carefully curated experience designed to support both mind and body, bringing together transformational leaders, wellness practitioners, and clinical experts who understand that true healing requires more than mindset alone.

<who>Jenny McKinneyAmong those leading the experience is Jenny McKinney, a transformation coach, EFT tapping practitioner, and speaker whose work has impacted women around the world.

With more than 30 years of expertise in nervous system regulation, identity evolution, and somatic healing practices, McKinney helps women move out of survival mode and into a more grounded, regulated version of themselves. Her EFT tapping activation at the retreat is designed to create shifts women can physically feel long after they leave the room.

Her philosophy is simple but powerful: regulated women change everything around them, including their families, businesses, relationships, and communities.

<who>Dr. Britt SchamerhornThe retreat will also feature Dr. Britt Schamerhorn, naturopathic doctor and founder of Ivy Health Clinic, who specializes in women’s hormone health and trains clinicians across North America.

Her session will focus on the conversations many women feel they were never taught to have about their bodies, from hormones and stress to energy, cycles, and long-term wellness. The goal is not only education, but empowerment.

“When a woman understands her body, everything changes,” organizers say. “She moves through life differently.”

What makes the retreat especially unique is the integration of clinical wellness support alongside emotional and mindset work.

Sona Wellness Clinic has joined the retreat as the official clinical wellness partner, bringing services designed to help women physically support the internal work happening throughout the two-day experience.

<who>Kelly GilliesFounded by Kelly Gillies, a Registered Psychiatric Nurse and holistic health practitioner, Sona Wellness focuses on the connection between gut health, mental wellness, nervous system support, and overall vitality.

Throughout the retreat, attendees will have access to wellness therapies including IV vitamin treatments, vitamin booster shots, lymphatic drainage, and ionic foot detox baths. These treatments are intended to help the body integrate rest, restoration, and healing more deeply.

Rather than separating emotional wellness from physical health, the retreat was intentionally designed to bridge both worlds together.

And perhaps that’s what women are craving most right now.

Not perfection.
Not performance.
Not another thing to achieve.

But space to pause.
To regulate.
To reconnect.
To feel supported by experts and surrounded by other women who understand the weight of modern life.

With limited spots available, organizers say the retreat is intentionally being kept intimate to preserve the depth of the experience and connection.

Because this isn’t about filling a room. It’s about creating one where women leave differently than they arrived.
