If you’re a fan of Kronenbourg 1664 Blancs, you might like this creation from Hoyne Brewing Company.
The Victoria brewery put this one out in July, so hopefully it’s still kicking around private liquor stores around the province as we enter September.
It’s the Tabbarwitte! French Blanche, and the brewery calls it a “zesty, expressive and refreshing ale” that’s perfect on a hot summer afternoon.
And while summer is quickly coming to an end, most of the province is being treated to some beautiful hot weather this weekend that makes this a perfect refreshment for the occasion.
This French white beer, or Bière Blanche, comes in at 5.1% ABV (alcohol by volume) and registers on the low end of both malt and hops ratings.
“This beer is made with locally-grown wheat, pilsner malt and coriander from Field 5 Farms, plus Curaçao orange peel and chamomile flowers,” the brewery says. “This special beer will have you passionately, politely, demanding more!”
There’s also a cool backstory to the Tabbarwitte! French Blanche, as it’s part of Hoyne Brewing’s Young Lions series.
It’s a series of beers released by the brewery that are entirely conceived, created and crafted by the next generation of brewers.
“Brewmaster Sean Hoyne lends his experience and knowledge to help them experiment with the art of brewing craft beer – much in the same way that the legendary Frank Appleton shared his experience with Sean,” the brewery explains.
