This beer isn’t technically new, but it has a whole new look.
Backcountry Brewing originally released its spicy margarita sour last March in honour of Caroline Favot, a beloved Squamish resident who passed away in a snowmobiling accident at the young age of 30.
It was called Ride With Caroline, the label was designed by a good friend of Favot’s and a portion of the proceeds were donated to Squamish Search and Rescue.
While the beer was born from tragedy, it supported a wonderful related cause in its first year of existence, but now it begins a new life with more typical Backcountry branding.
The spicy margarita sour is now called Florals For Spring? Groundbreaking, named for the iconic sarcastic line from The Devil Wears Prada.

Built on the Squamish brewery’s signature sour base, this bad boy is conditioned on lime puree and layered with orange zest, agave and a subtle kick of hot peppers.
There’s also a touch of lactose added for body, which is a creative touch you wouldn’t typically expect for a sour.
Backcountry describes this creation as “bright, citrusy and gentle warming on the finish,” or more accurately, “basically a margarita in a beer can!”
Backcountry revealed this rebrand on April 29 and said it was shipping out across the province.
Hopefully by now, or at least soon, you’ll be able to track it down at your favourite private liquor store that focuses on craft beer.
If you can’t, ask the staff if they can put an order in because they’re usually happy to accommodate if possible!
