Commercial Vehicle Safety and Enforcement (CVSE) officers were surprised when a pickup truck missing half its lugnuts rolled into the Kamloops scale recently.
BC’s Ministry of Transportation took to social media to share details of the incident that could have ended much worse if not for CVSE intervention.
5 of 10 missing lug nuts. 2 loose.
A pickup carrying a gooseneck trailer rolled into our Kamloops scale like this. CVSE officers issued a violation ticket and the truck was not allowed to proceed.

The pickup was towing a gooseneck trailer when it arrived at the Kamloops scale with five of 10 lugnuts missing.
In addition, the Ministry said two of the remaining five lug nuts were loose.
“CVSE officers issued a violation ticket and the truck was not allowed to proceed,” the Ministry explained.
The fine was $109.
The Ministry offered an important reminder to drivers as well: “A reminder to always do your pre-trip inspection, and do it right!”
