Human remains found inside a burned vehicle outside of Kamloops

The BC RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit is investigating a suspicious death north of Kamloops after human remains were found inside a burned vehicle.

According to the police, the Tk’emlups Rural RCMP responded to a vehicle fire on Tranquille-Criss Creek Road north of Kamloops on Saturday.

Investigators then found human remains inside the burned vehicle, which is believed to be a stolen, black 2019 Volkswagen Golf.

“MCU investigators are looking for public assistance in determining the circumstances that led to the vehicle fire and death,” said S/Sgt Jason Smart of the BC RCMP Southeast District Major Crime Unit.

“If you have any information regarding the black, 2019 Volkswagen Golf, dashcam footage or video surveillance in the area of Tranquille-Criss Creek Road between 3 pm on August 22 and 7 am on August 23, 2025, please contact the RCMP.”
