Police searching for evidence after Kamloops minivan fire deemed suspicious

Mounties are searching for evidence after a suspicious vehicle fire in Kamloops on Monday evening.

The minivan was found alight outside an apartment building in the 100 block of Tamarack Avenue sometime around 9 pm.

Police were called to assist firefighters.

RCMP said the fire “appeared suspicious in nature.”

“The fire involved a blue minivan and may have begun around 8:45 pm according to information obtained as part of the ongoing investigation,” said Cpl. Crystal Evelyn.

“Two men were noted in the area around the time: one was described as shorter and bald in a white undershirt, the other as having a buzz cut, grey sweater, and facial hair.”

Anyone who has information about the investigation is asked to contact the Kamloops RCMP Detachment at 250-828-3000 and reference file 2022-41689.
