Police searching for suspect in Valentine's Day kidnapping wanted for Assault

Kamloops RCMP is turning to the public to locate Robert James Rennie who is wanted for assault in connection with a kidnapping that occurred last week.

On February 14th, two men were robbed and a woman was kidnapped in Kamloops. Through investigation, the Kamloops Serious Crime Unit identified the suspects believed to be involved in the crime. Rennie has been charged with Assault Causing Bodily Harm from the incident.

Rennie is from Kamloops and still believed to be in the area. He was previously known to police and was said to be involved in the local drug trade.

Police described Rennie as a 31-year-old Caucasian male who stands at 6'1" tall and weighs 160 lbs. He has brown hair and brown eyes.

If you have any information on Rennie, you are asked to call the Kamloops RCMP detachment at (250)828-3000 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

This morning, RCMP and the South East District Emergency Response Team arrested Michael James Mathieson on Brandon Avenue. The 36-year-old has been charged with Robbery, Forcible Confinement, and Firearm Offences in relation to the Valentine's Day incident.
