RCMP investigating after shots fired in Kamloops

Mounties in Kamloops are investigating after a shooting in the city.

Police responded in force to reports of shots fired in the MacKenzie Avenue/Williams Street area last night.

They were first called at about 8:30 pm.

One home had a broken window, the RCMP explained, but nobody was found hurt.

“This residence was not known to police and is not believed to have been targeted,” Mounties added.

A black SUV was seen leaving the area and may be associated, officers said.

An investigation is now under way.

Anyone who witnessed the shooting or has information about it is asked to contact Kamloops RCMP at 250-828-3000 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
