The Kelowna Community Health Centre was evacuated this morning after a suspicious package was found on the second floor.
It was reported to the Kelowna RCMP at 10:14 a.m. and staff, clients and patrons were told to leave the building.
Several RCMP members assisted with evacuations and police dog services cleared the building.
Eventually, the package was determined to not be suspicious in nature and all employees and occupants were allowed to return inside.
"Kelowna Community Health and Services Centre was evacuated at about 10:20 a.m.," said a tweet from Interior Health.
"(Interior Health) appreciates everyone's patience at this time. We would like to thank staff, clients and patrons for their quick and calm response in leaving the building.
The five-storey building, which houses Interior Health, the YMCA and more, is fully open once again.
Update: Access to Downtown Kelowna YMCA is now open!
