COVID-19 exposures have been identified at a pair of Central Okanagan public schools.
The latest schools to be affected by the virus are École Kelowna Secondary near Okanagan College and George Elliot Secondary in Lake Country.
School District 23 says the affected individuals are self-isolating at home with support from local public health teams.
The health authority will be following up with anyone who was potentially exposed to a confirmed case directly through contact tracing.
“The safety and well-being of students, families and staff remains our highest priority,” explained a press release from SD23.
“(SD23) will continue to implement the strict health and safety protocols and procedures that are in place so students and staff can continue to attend school as safely as possible.”
The school district and IH will continue working closely to determine if any additional actions are required and to support ongoing communication to each affected school community.
As always, people are reminded to stay home from school or work if they show any symptoms of COVID-19.
