“The media attention generated by this story helped in successfully locating her,” police said in a news release.
“The Kelowna RCMP would like to thank the public and local media in their assistance.”

(UPDATE: Sept. 24 @ 9:50 am) – The Kelowna RCMP have provided an updated picture of Stephanie Broersma, 40, was last seen in the Vernon area on Sept. 13.
(Original story: Sept. 23 @ 4 pm) – The Kelowna RCMP are asking for the public’s help locating a woman who has not been seen in about 10 days.
Stephanie Broersma, 40, was last seen in the Vernon area on Sept. 13.
The RCMP said she does live in Kelowna, however.
“Her family is very concerned for her safety,” police said in a news release.
Broersma is described as a white woman who is 5’4” and weighs about 145 pounds.
She has long red or blonde hair and hazel eyes.
She was last seen wearing a black tank top, a black skirt and carrying a purse, the release said.
Anyone who has seen or had recent contact with Broersma, is asked to phone the Kelowna RCMP Detachment at (250) 762-3300 and reference the file number 2025-55920.
