It's business as usual at under-new-ownership Tower Ranch Golf & Country Club.
"There are no changes planned and we will continue to manage Tower Ranch," said general manager James Cronk of golf management and consulting firm Cronk Group.
"We will continue to be the 7,200-yard, 18-hole golf course ranked the best in Kelowna by ScoreGolf magazine, that's challenging and set high above the city with spectacular views."
This week, Tower Ranch officially changed hands with Vernon-based Durali Properties buying the course designed by renowned golf course architect Thomas McBroom from Edmonton-based Carrington Group of Companies.
Durali Properties is owned by Gurjit Jhajj, who also owns Sunset Ranch Golf & Country Club near Kelowna airport (named one of the 'best places to play' by Golf Digest magazine) and several Subway restaurants in the Okanagan.
Carrington is a developer that has numerous projects in Edmonton and Kelowna, including Essence condominiums near the Mission Creek Greenway and subdivisions at Trailhead at The Ponds in the Upper Mission, The Orchard in the Lower Mission and Lone Pine in Black Mountain.
"Carrington didn't give a specific reason for selling, but selling it to a local company that already has a golf course in Kelowna is a positive opportunity," said Cronk.
Durali does not own the residential real estate development around Tower Ranch.
It just owns the golf course and country club amenities.
It's the same situation at Sunset Ranch -- Durali owns the golf course and country club, not the residential development around the course.
"We are very excited to add Tower Ranch to our growing portfolio of recreational properties," said Jhajj.
"We would like to thank the team at Carrington for their hard work and dedication that ensured Tower Ranch remains a must-play course for every golfer. We look forward to supporting the excellent staff to help them build upon their many successes to date."
Carrington is thankful for the time it owned and operated Tower Ranch, which opened in 2008.
"We are grateful for the many staff that we have worked with over the past number of uyears, who have developed Tower Ranch to be one of the best golf courses in the Okanagan and voted the No. 1 public golf course in Kelowna," said Carrington CEO Dan Sleven.
"We know Durali Properties will continue to operate Tower Ranch as an exceptional golf course and continue to be a highlight in the community."
