The Memorial Cup final is set.
The Kitchener Rangers, who were waiting in the final after winning all three of their round robin games, will take on the Everett Silvertips for junior hockey’s biggest prize.
Everett clinched their berth in the championship game with a dominant 6-1 victory over the Chicoutimi Saguenéens in Friday night’s semi-final.

Landon DuPont led the way for the Silvertips on Friday night with a pair of goals, but it was Jaxsin Vaughan who got things going for Everett just shy of the eight-minute mark of the opening frame.
Tomas Lavoie tied it up five minutes later on a goal that went in and out of the net so fast it went unnoticed on the ice, but the play was blown dead seconds later and Chicoutimi was able to celebrate.
The tie lasted just two minutes before DuPont scored his first of two on the night, which gave Everett the 2-1 lead they’d take into the first intermission.
The Silvertips pulled away in the second period, as Carter Bear, Zackary Shantz and DuPont all scored to make it 5-1 heading into the final 20 minutes.

If there was any hope for a Saguenéens comeback, it was extinguished by Julius Miettinen’s goal just 45 seconds into the third to make it 6-1 for the Silvertips.
Anders Miller stopped 25 of 26 shots for Everett in the victory, while Chicoutimi starter Lucas Beckman surrendered six goals on 28 shots before being pulled. Raphael Precourt turned aside all eight shots he faced in relief.
DuPont, the projected first-overall pick in the 2027 NHL draft, was named player of the game thanks to his two-goal effort.

The Rockets bowed out of the tournament on Wednesday and the Saguenéens are now done as well, which means it’s down to two teams to claim the CHL crownd for 2025-26.
Kitchener and Everett will battle it out for the Memorial Cup on Sunday with the puck drop set for 4 pm at Prospera Place in Kelowna.
The Rangers will be looking to win their third Memorial Cup in franchise history, but their first since 2003.
The Silvertips, on the other hand, will be looking to end a 12-year WHL drought at the Memorial Cup and, more importantly, win their first CHL title in the same year they won their first WHL title.
