Vikes hosting Canada West golf championships this week

The UVic Vikes are set to host the 2022 Canada West Golf Championships at Cordova Bay Golf Course in Victoria this week, featuring athletes from seven different universities.

Both men’s and women’s golfers will take part in the two day tournament that will run from Monday, Oct. 3 to Tuesday, Oct. 4 at one of the Island’s top-rated courses.

The men will play two 18 hole rounds at a length of 6,583 yards, while the women will play a similar format at a distance of 5,583-yards.

Robin Conlan, Zach Ryujin, Chase Basanta, Aiden Craig-Steele, and Tahir Shamji will represent the Vikes men’s team, while Mirai Hayashi, Sukriti Harjai, Mackenzie Scott, Kathleen Hodgson, and Lana Rummel will represent the women’s team.

The first round of the event will begin at 1:21 pm on Monday, Oct. 3 at Cordova Bay Golf Course.
