A fatal motor vehicle incident in Vanderhoof last week has led to serious charges being laid against a local man.
Police say 39-year-old Keegan Donald Leigh of Vanderhoof has been charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of a 38-year-old man.
While the RCMP didn’t provide details about the nature of the fatal incident, a release explained that the accused and victim were known to each other and called it “an isolated incident.”
The crash happened in the early afternoon of Thursday, July 9, in the 1500 block of Loop Road.
Officers arrived at the scene to find the victim dead and Leigh was arrested in short order.
The North District Major Crimes Unit (MCU) continues to investigate the incident and are appealing to anyone with relevant dash cam or surveillance footage from the area.
