One person is dead following a single-vehicle crash in northern BC.
Emergency crews were called to the scene on Hwy 37, around 30 kilometres south of Dease Lake, around 12:15 pm on Friday.
According to police, a local road maintenance worker spotted the car down an embankment off the highway and there was a dead man "nearby."
“Early investigation indicates the lone male occupant of the vehicle swerved and went off road, and appears to have been ejected from the vehicle,” explained an RCMP release.
While the exact cause of the man’s actions behind the wheel are unknown at this time, police do not suspect criminality was involved.
The RCMP is asking any potential witnesses of the fatal crash to come forward.
