(UPDATE: Sept. 1 @ 3:15 pm) - The Stewart RCMP says Dmytro Malovichko has been found.
While police confirmed he is "safe and sound," they did not provide any further information.
Malovichko was originally reported missing to the Toronto Police service in mid-April.
However, the search expanded to British Columbia in May when a rental vehicle associated with the 30-year-old was found abandoned on a rural forest service road in northwestern BC.
(Original story: May 25 @ 2:45 pm) - Mounties in northern BC are searching for a missing man who was originally reported missing to the Toronto Police Service in mid-April.
Dmytro Malovichko, 30, was reported missing in Ontario on April 15. According to police, he was last heard from on April 8 and last seen on March 25.
On May 22, a rental vehicle associated with Malovichko was found abandoned on a forest service road near kilometre 95 of Hwy 37, which is in a remote area of northwestern BC.
“It is unknown how Dmytro is now travelling,” noted a Stewart RCMP news release.
Police provided the following description of the missing man:
Anyone with information on Malovichko’s whereabouts is urged to contact their local police or Crime Stoppers.
