Okanagan Mounties say stolen vehicle was towed away then ‘completely stripped to the frame’

Police are hoping the public can help identify a suspect involved in the theft of a motor vehicle.

The grey 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe was towed away from a business in the 4600 block of 27th Street in Vernon on Thursday, Nov. 6.

While it was later recovered, the RCMP says it had been “completely stripped to the frame.”

Photos released by police today show a suspect wearing black pants and a black logoed jacket over a blue hoodie. He was driving a blue pickup truck and with a tow dolly used to haul the Hyundai away.

“We’re releasing these photos to the public looking for any information that could help advance our investigation,” said Cst. Chris Terleski. “If you recognize the person or the vehicle, please give us a call.”

Anyone with information that could assist investigators is urged to contact the North Okanagan RCMP at 250-545-7171 and quote file 2025-18734.
