Vernon Search and Rescue members were called out on Christmas for an unfortunate task.
They were summoned just before dinnertime to assist the RCMP with the recovery of a body.
The deceased male was near Turtle Mountain, a debrief from VSAR explained.
As snow flurries whipped around, VSAR members used a rope system and stretcher to retrieve the subject.
They handed over the body to the RCMP and BC Coroners Service.
