Searchers scour Okanagan Lake for missing woman as parents fly out from Ontario

The search continues for a missing Vancouver Island woman who was last seen around Antlers Beach in Penticton.

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue (COSAR) members were in the area looking for 40-year-old Stephanie Woodcock on Thursday.

A short post from the volunteer search organization said they conducted boat, ground, dog and drone searches around Antlers Beach until well past sundown.

Police made a public appeal for information on Woodcock’s whereabouts on Wednesday, saying the Port Alberni resident was likely last seen in the Peachland area on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Her grey 2009 GMC Yukon, which the RCMP said was “outfitted to be lived in,” was abandoned at Antlers Beach and has since been towed away.

Woodcock’s cousin, Jennifer MacIntosh, has started a GoFundMe to help the missing woman’s parents with their travel expenses as they fly from Ontario to BC to look for their daughter.

“She is loved by so many people and brings joy to those that have met her with her charismatic nature and her love and talent for music,” MacIntosh wrote.

MacIntosh added that it has “been an insane emptiness” knowing her cousin might be all alone and in trouble.

The fundraiser has raised just over $1,000 so far. Click here if you would like to make a contribution.
