An American man died skydiving in the B.C. Interior over the weekend.
Shortly before 7 p.m. on Saturday, North Okanagan RCMP responded to reports of a sky diver who sustained fatal injuries from a parachuting incident.
The RCMP and Emergency Health Services both attended the private property in the 51000 block of Hwy 97 in Westwold.
However, the 34-year-old American was pronounced dead at the scene.
The BC Coroners Service and Transportation Safety Board are now investigating the fatal accident, with help from the RCMP.
Cst. Kelly Brett says no further information is available at this time.
