VIDEO: Drone footage captures crews removing rock debris from Hwy 97

Three weeks later and crews continue to remove rock debris from Highway 97.

On Jan. 31, the slide came down along a 1.6 kilometre stretch of the highway between Callan Road and N Beach Road, forcing a full closure.

A convenient detour has since replaced the 90-minute trek through the Trout Creek Forest Service Road, but it will still be sometime before the affected stretch of Highway 97 reopens.

On Wednesday, Drive BC posted aerial drone footage of the slide area that could cost up to $1-million to repair.

Officials are continuing to conduct geotechnical assessments in the area.
