Firefighters in Prince George were called to a blaze on Thursday afternoon.
Four halls and 20 firefighters responded to the fire at 7255 Southridge Avenue at 4:41 pm.
When they arrived, they found heavy smoke and fire coming from a condo unit at the rear of the building.
It was extending into a second unit as well as to the roof, Assistant Chief Dan Pears said.
“Crews knocked down the exterior fire on the back deck, pressurized the building and attacked the fire from the interior,” Pears explained.
“Using piercing nozzles into the ceiling and thermal imaging cameras got the fire under control in the roof structure and extinguished the fire.”
It took about three hours to suppress the fire, which caused something like $200,000 in damage.
Nobody was hurt.
Firefighters are not considering the fire suspicious.
