Man dies after driving off Hwy 16 near Prince George

One man is dead following a single-vehicle crash on Hwy 16 this morning.

It happened shortly before 9 am near Carmel Road in Beaverley, just south of Prince George.

“A full-size pickup left the highway and rolled, coming to a rest on its roof,” explained a release from the PG RCMP.

“The adult male occupant could not be revived by paramedics and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

The BC Coroners Service attended the scene and is conducting a separate investigation from the RCMP to determine who died and their cause of death.

However, due to the privacy of the deceased, their identity will not be provided.

While the highway was closed in both directions at the time of the crash, it has since reopened to traffic.

The PG RCMP also gave thanks to the bystanders who witnessed the crash and stopped to assist.
